Construction Office services are provided to the Township of Mansfield through a shared services agreement with Washington Township, Morris County Construction Office.  The Building department issues permits and conducts inspections for construction, repairs and renovations, additions, electric and gas service upgrades, demolition, roofing, siding, swimming pools, sheds, replacement of hot water heaters and removal of tanks, etc.  The office also enforces compliance with all State rules and regulations regarding construction.

When submitting plans for something other than minor work two sets of detailed plans either architect/engineers or the homeowner may draw their own with sufficient knowledge of the codes. Once submitted, the application and plans are reviewed and either approved or denied, based on the information supplied. The Contractor/Owner is then notified by phone or email whether changes need to be made or the permit is ready for pick up. Work can be started when fees are paid and the Construction Permit is issued.
